Friday 16 July 2010. not dead, just sleeping…

Friday, July 16th, 2010

I have managed to get through this week with nothing more than a sore thumb!

Figure that was from holding onto that shovel and pick ax for 3 days solid.

Slept well after that!

Picked up the hedge trimmer for the first time cense before my back problems. A good test to see how I’m doing in the real world.

Doing fine to seams. The damn thing is still evil though!

Started raining Friday afternoon, so the boss told me to go home! Two weeks in a row! Wow!

So an early afternoon training was had. Numbers down a little on some, up on others. All and all, not bad considering the work load this week.

wednesday 14 july 2010. lift a shovel, bang your head…

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

I have spent the last 3 days shoveling about 10 cubic meters of dirt and rock. By Hand. well shovel…

body well tired, back sore, only one thing to do….

lift some heavy things, it is wednesday after all, it would be rude not to.

Focused on getting my breathing right on the Trap-bar. Took it nice and slow, nice tight form. no problems… well so far. will see how i feel tomorrow!

Dips and pull ups are coming alone fine. Will cut back on the wight increase on pull ups next week. i don’t wont to drop my reps quite yet, so less wight each week should see to that.

Uchie in the park with Marcus, Sue, Ben, Janet, and me. With the extra addition of a guy Marcus and I met in the park a month ago named er…. (insert name here.)

We worked the drills, swam for under hooks, swam for neck clinches, hit the pads, did some sticky hands, and some night of the living dead.
And of course conditioning. Thanks Janet!

I seamed to do a lot of talking while Marcus played with the new guy to see where he is at, and to get him up to speed on what we do. We all changed around so everyone got to play with everyone else. Did explain to Ben that my talking was mostly me trying to order my thought’s on what we was up to. Ben seams to be loosing up and allowing himself to move a little more naturally, rather than robot style.
Turns out that Sue has a nice elbow flow! Works fine on the pad but she doesn’t do it in training!
I’m thinking what she needs is a body to train it on, to get comfortable doing it on people.
And Yes, I am offering my body as a training tool!

I also tried to pass on a nice choke escape to Sue and Janet. Must remember to revise it next week.

Marcus can you remind me, who we stole that from?

Then Marcus and I went and watched a bunch of guys in armor hit and stab each other with swords…

To those who enjoy a glass of wine

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine…and those who don’t.

As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) – bacteria
found in faeces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop…

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health.

Therefore, it’s better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:

I’m doing it as a public service!

Naty felt the little girl move for the first time yesterday, now she just wont quit! very exciting!

Today was the first really clear day we have had in ages. Bright blue sky, warm sun… nice. Started with a frost, but i wont go on about that to people who live in the snow for half the year!

Spent the day at work with a 15-kg knapsack on my back killing weeds. Must of walked about 10 km. Then the boss said take the rest of the day off! YAY! Went and got Naty, and went for another long walk, holding hands and acting like teenagers. Went into town and payed off the car repairs. Less than expected… nice… Got some fish and chips for dinner.

perfect day.

Decided that i didn’t wont a repeat of last weeks saturday morning training. (me wont sleep in!) So went over to the gym and did the routine.

then had a shower, eat ice cream, and went to bed.

perfect day!

went with the 5-kg increase this week with the trap bar lifts. making me breath hard but still not heavy as such. though the old legs do feel like there working. which is nice.  will probably add 5-kg a week for the next 4 weeks, until it reaches 100-kg, and then decrease the weekly increase…

My best trap bar lift is 127.5kg for 15 reps.  so would like to reach that and maybe beat it.

The dips and pull ups are progressing well. still not any where near being hard yet ,  but interesting to note the difference to my shoulders already!  Just need to get the row up to speed, to help pull the shoulders back. I really don’t need constant shoulder niggles to add to my injury woes…

saturday 3 july 2010. early morning sweat session.

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

this is supposed to be my friday night fun, but between work, a thousand dollar bill for the car, an ultra sound for Nat and the baby, and a complete lack of sleep, instead i got up early had a cup of tea, and went hard this morning.
The gaol was not numbers as such but to merely make it through the 8 sets.
