But can I walk the walk?
Sunday in the park, Marcus, Sue, Janet, Ben and me.
Weather held out, which was a nice surprise after saturday!
Spent the most part of the 2 hours with Ben. So me holding pads, and talking way to much!
I guess Marcus and I did the same thing when I was trying to understand what he was on about…
Ben is making some good progress letting go of his trained “karateness”
We worked on power generation, striking and attack the attack. Basic holding your guard and keeping loose.
Then did something that Marcus called mutual confrontation night of the living dead. I wasn’t to sure of what he was after, so I just tried to get Ben to put all the little segments we have been doing over the last few months together.
Started at long range, throw a shot, close, shift, pass, strike, grab, and shut down the attacker, while I made life hard for him. I did my best to keep it slow on my part, then failed and just plain old cheated when I felt like it!
Ben got the idea, Quickly! Anything goes!
Glad everyone is wearing a cup these days…
finished with conditioning.
Me so happy to be well enough to train again! Looking forward to wednesday… and friday….and of course next sunday!
Come on weather be good for us…
No one seemed to get the drill , alas sometimes things I see simply arent so simple , and there was a lot in it ,but it served the purpose , to get folks feeling jostled pressured and ugly(and in my hopes, merge , flow , intercept etc) . Didnt get to see where you and Ben took it , but im sure it was good .
To much information , to much talk , we all suffer from it sometimes , I find now with power generation less is more , pick on the positives , and try to add maybe one simple mechanic , or better yet , see and pick where the chain is leaking and work that mechanic in ….. understanding and layering will be gradual , Ben has power already when he can let it go . Being able to see the mechanics in others is a good test of perception and understanding IMHO.
