July 14th

More or the same , trained elbow flow , catching jabs, cross arm cover as entry and attack.  mostly strategic positioning. Did some arm conditioning and club bell work too.

New meds are allowing me to strike again elbow is less swollen and sore.  Felt good to hit someone again. However the meds are causing other medical conditions to flare up so I may have to go off them. Got a cortizone shot in the joint as well, appears to be helping.

The forearms sure took a beating with all elbow entries we trained, I had forgotten these anti inflamatory meds thinned the blood and caused bruising.

I’ve come to the conclussion that meds and doctors will do little to help, cure lies in quality nutrition and exercise.  Time to do intu flow daily and time to put some miles on the old body.

Can’t wait to train FEUR again, having a blast these days.

Light club bell warm up.

some kata

Then about an hour of cross arm cover in boxing.. transitioning into elbow flow and close quarter work with the main focus being entry and retaining captured ground. Basically trying to marry Uechi and boxing. Sanchin guard and sword and sheild as a postural structure and an entry to lines of force.

Productive class. Carl is now starting to put it all together. He is begining to develop the patience to permit his opponet to offer the entry.

Lets get started

Well it’s been about six months time to get started.

The name….I heard Jim Maloney once tell a student “no sense polishing an apple if it’s rotten inside”. The guy stunk of smoke. The advice kind of stuck with me.

Yet today I am rotten on the inside. I suffer from a few diseases that go hand in hand with aging.

So this blog will deal with training on the downside…training when you are less than you once were. Training when disease inhibits progress.

I will endevour to discover if the apple can be shined when the body is less than 100%
