Good Night Tonight

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Taught the kid’s class.

Then Intu-Flow

Wauke fast hands into elbow into retaliatory into snatches.

Then kick avoidance to kick redirection with legs to with arms to takedowns.

Then thought I would play off the Adam Steer challenge and try a few Forward pressure just Beginner level (except we do crow at the end).

One Forward pressure round then 30 second rest and repeat.

Managed to do 10 rounds of Forward pressure.

Poor Stan I forgot to tell him and he had already done four earlier when we started he made it to seven still.

Quiet Sunday

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

A quiet Sunday got the BBQ ready to go replacing the burner and cleaning it all up.

Made big steal at the Goodwill second hand book section:

“Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do: Bruce Lee’s commentates on the martial way” new $35.00 got it used $2.49.

Hardcover “Bruce Lee’s Fighting method” new $45.00 got it used $3.99.

As for work out – just some light knee circles tonight – a true no intensity night.

Saturday was my 8:00 a.m. workout at the dojo.

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Intu-Flow.

Some knee work and hip openers.

Wauke work with Louis and Tony and Rav jumping to elbow work then elbow fulcrum to strike to a more wauke fast hands sparring version.

Showed Tony the rolling shoulder strike and he got it very wel very fast.

Fun day – the knee feels better every day.

Still a ways from back to the old workout but it will be there.

Mid day update on Friday

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Met Reg this morning and had a great time.  Worked on some strike absorption, and rebound, and shoulder strikes and odd angle elbow strikes.

Then off to see the doctor about my knee.

And good news from the doctor – Scott Sonnon came through again and the mobility I have gained in my knee saved me from a tear or disconnection.

The MCL was only strained and nothing seems to be torn.

Definitely everything is still connected as it should be.

My pain has dropped a lot so in the movements and pressure the doctor put me through I didn’t feel anything.

Still some of “my” movements I can’t do yet but time and patience will help.

Oddly this experience has increased my own ability to manipulate the knees of others through circles.

Always something to learn.

Thursday night

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Teaching night but did some nice fast hands Wauke sparring with Robyn then had Stan put him through his paces to finally agree we should give him his green belt – well done Robyn.

Wednesday night

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Rested most of the day still not feeling great.

Survived teaching.

Ate VERY little

Exhausted.

Crashed as soon as I was home from class, which most people know is not normal for me.

Food poisoning

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

We having the best staycation at the hotel.  Got in some workouts, good food, saw some IMAX films and some movies and all was well for two days until 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning – either food poisoning or a horrible flu hit me and I was very ill from then to about 7:00 a.m. and felt like trash for the next while – still do not feel that great.

So – no training got done just surviving.

Sunday and Monday

Monday, April 13th, 2009

After Easter lunch with the family wew ran away to a Hotel.

Sunday Did Intu-Flow and Knee circles etc the into a not so hot hot tub.

Monday Did Intu-Flow and then three rounds of:

1) 2 cycles of Forward pressure

2) 10 flat foot squats

3) 10 one leg squats each leg.

Then a little sauna and some of that not so hot hot tub.

At the DOJO this morning

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

Okay so Intu-flow this morning as well as a lot of knee circling and compressing of all kinds but very careful to stay away from that one bad direction.  Made it through without real pain so – not bad.

Forward Pressure is okay except for the swinging planks.

FlowFit has the squats which I can do a complete flat foot squat but carefully.

I can do a leg swoop one way but the other “twinged”  so I will avoid them.

Did clubbells.

50 shoulder casts on each arm with the minis and then the 10’s

50 mills on each arm with the minis then 40 with the 10s.

Some other clubbell work.

Moved a few times today with pain hitting a 5 or 6 but not the 8 from Thursday so maybe things are getting better.

I will giving it a rest for the next two days with some Intu-Flow and perhaps swimming but that is it.

Going to take some Lakota Formula that Louis recommend for the next whiel as well.

More optimistic today.

Friday night a slow easy one

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

Taking the night off — will see what moves from FlowFit 1 and Forward Pressure my leg can take tomorrow so I can set a new program based on what my knee can do right now.
