Worked the kids hard with bodyweight exercises and a diminishing protocol:  start with a Level 3 got to a level 2 then to a Level 1 to finish.

Worked them on striking striking striking.

The Adults tonight we did some Intu-Flow warm up and then there were only three of us at the start so I did some clubbell work with them.  Frank and Emil had the minis I took the tens.

Then into striking basics.

Then CQC drills.

Then NLD

Then Kata.

A good night.

Shamefully lazy today and no excuse for it.

Yes another day of not doing a focused program of any kind – I have to reshape an new program and recommit to each and every day.

Time to write a post on the value of having a program to work at…………………….

Okay just could not leave the night this way.

Quick Intu-Flow warm up from CSTG

Grabbed the mini-clubbells:

40 swings to park

20 on each arm — arm casts

20 on each arm – shoulder casts

20 on each arm – shield casts

Not too much but something…………………………….

Mobility night

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Went down and spent about 50 minutes at the Canada Place Fitness Centre.

Long intu-Flow and lots of knee work.

The soreness comes at the push points now and oddly feels good because I know it is healing.

Another Dojo Night

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

After the holidays I am going to be ready to kick in another program.

But tonight a nice kids class.

Adult was just Adam Frank and I so we did flow fighting work for over an hour then into conditioning then into absorption then some more smack and flow. J

Just a night at the Dojo

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Taught a fun kids class with the CSTG warm up and pad striking and then enter off the pad hit to take down.

Adults was a long work of softwork striking entering taking down.

Told them to NOT fight the takedown but embrace it and learn by embracing the takedown you get some control on the decent (not every takedown of course but lots).

Then we move to a far more aggressive controlled decent by hooking and taking them with you BUT you must hook pull and spin to bring them over top.

Then for fun we worked on a standing scissor takedown (waist and knee).

Then using the scissor takedown rolling to absorb a roundhouse kick to the thigh dropping the KICKED leg down on one knee to hook the ankle and rolling to use your other leg to attack the knee – scissor takedown.

THEN some more free flowing exchange of strikes takedown and counters.
