Ran through some Sanchin Mechanics this afternoon

 Intuflow , and did some spinal rocks quad hops and trinity squat combo just to get breathing

apart from that just drank beer and enjoyed the sun !!!

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

 MA training , did predominantly kata and sticking hands , not much in the tank , so got technical and worked on looseness flow and played with wave in practice and in kata .

 Playing very much with the systema style strikes , hammer action and waves , also focusing on going with opponents force , dragon flow of sorts , even played walking the circle ala Bagua …..

 did some conditoning , mainly shins and forearms , highlight was kotikitae with elbow drops .

Lifting

Getting back into it , trying to find a groove again . Feeling better , consolidating a starting point to rebuild …. patience ……

 

Squats

60*10 reps

100*6 reps

120*10 reps

Chins

4* 10 reps

then 1 set of 12 reps

start adding weight next week

Then expiremented with Romanian deadlifts working on getting form .

 Did Some bridges and leg swoops , some minor intuflow just specific areas  .

 really just need to eat and sleep a lot , tired today , probably diet , eating fairly lean may need more calories

 looking forward to lifitng tomorrow , hoping for energy , will make sure I`m primed .

this would go down as another low intenstiy day

 did some intuflow (  was minimal ) and ran through Seisan for a bit .

 feeling better today , pushed a bit hard last week in the strength gains , got to remeber increments , am looking forward to lifitng wednesday , skipping the weekend lifting has got me eager for next lifitng session .

Thoughts

 Went for a walk this afternoon , and did a few sets of leg swoops .

 Reading the Rmax forum and something Coach Sonnon said resonated .

 

 He stated that he had to realise he was well now , he was fit now , he was functional now

 what we need to do is respect that and follow that , live that way and maybe get rid of these thoughts of becoming these things .

dont become better , be better , live in congruence to who you want to be and it will take care of itself .

Prasara

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Ran through flock of pigeons prasara flow , need to work/concentrate on triangle squat and geting foot around further . But generally feeling good , opening up , King Pigeon pose is progressing and Quads are loosening .

Did some Handstand practice .

Also tried to played with crow and crane pose on Paralettes , but only breifly grip strength limiting factor , should be a good tool

 

Should be kettlebells today , but taking extra recovery , listening to body .

Hardest part of rebuilding is taking time

I`m resting and in recovery , so not much training

 Played with paralettes , latest toy

 

 Did some handstand work (can maybe do five seconds)

did some grapplers toolbox and abreviated intuflow combination , (working knees and wrists mainly)

From the forum , my initial list of goals

 

Personal training goals

physically

cleaner diet

focus heavily this year on conditioning/toughness

restore work capacity
get squats back to where I want
get Kettlebells back to where I want
develop pullups to natural grove
develop general athleticicsim and sophistication of movement
incorporate Prasara , grapplers toolbox and Intuflow
work on Paralettes and core function

Technically (personally)

develop and focus on Sanseiryu
work on ground fighting(over grappling)
get good base on leglocks/escapes/counters
work on transitioning levels
general flow and movement sophistication .

Mentally

work on being more incremental and sustainable
keep working on teaching progression
focus on wellness .
